What We Do
At Smart Watt, we act as the middle point between landlords, letting agents, tenants, and energy providers, taking the stress out of energy management. Our role is to keep every account in good standing—accurate, efficient, and hassle-free.
We do this by:
-
Covering void periods – ensuring accounts are monitored and managed while properties are vacant, preventing wasted usage or unnecessary charges.
-
Liaising directly with tenants and providers – resolving queries, collecting meter readings, and ensuring smooth account transitions.
-
Working under authority – with a letter of authority from the landlord or letting agent, we gain the necessary access to manage and update accounts on your behalf. Should we mention this like right here, we could just tell them and/or have it in the welcome pack-
-
Managing disputes and updates – from reporting issues and correcting errors to updating tariffs or switching providers, we handle it all.
-
Health-checking accounts – we regularly review accounts to identify problems such as negative balances or incorrect charges. After each review, we provide a full report detailing what we fixed, how much it saved, and the overall account status.
-
Preventing outstanding balances – by monitoring accounts in real time, we eliminate negative balances often left behind when tenants move out. If an issue arises, you’re made aware early, allowing us to support your tenant and work with the provider to put fail-safes in place.
By combining all these services, Smart Watt provides landlords and letting agents with an extra layer of protection, transparency, and cost efficiency. Not only does this reduce expenses and eliminate unnecessary disputes, but it also creates a clear unique selling point for your business—making your properties more attractive, your services more valuable, and your clients more confident.
